Getting Started with OpenStrata
Six steps from a new building to a running one. Nothing is registered or published until you deliberately do it.
Your path to live
Every workflow runs on demo data — poke at it before you commit.
Before you start
The six steps
-
Look around in demo mode
Every tool works with sample data so you can judge the workflow before committing anything. The page will tell you when you are looking at demo data — believe it.
Open the tools -
Generate your building configuration
The wizard walks your jurisdiction, entity, units, funds, payment rails, and bylaws. It produces a configuration — it does not register anything with any authority.
Building wizard -
Keep the configuration
Download the JSON. It is a plain document: portable, versionable, yours. OpenStrata does not keep a copy, and nothing is published anywhere.
-
Register the building in a workspace
Sign in and register the building so balances, deadlines, forms, and the hash-chained ledger attach to a real workspace instead of a browser tab.
Connect your host — or stay in demo
Sovereign operation means your own backend. Set PUBLIC_API_BASE_URL at build time (or openstrata-api-base in the browser) and sign in. Until then, demo mode stays clearly labelled.
-
Set the legal baseline
Confirm jurisdiction dates, Form B / Form F windows, council roles, and the CRF allocation. Rosa answers from official sources with citations and flags anything date-dependent for review.
What it costs
Three tiers, published in full — the same numbers the pitch deck uses. Self-host is free; paid tiers are per unit per month.
Frequently Asked Questions
Plain-language answers to the most common BC strata questions, drawn from the compliance knowledge base.
If something looks wrong
Quick fixes for the most common demo-vs-live confusion. Most of these are expected, not broken.
